AGBU SUPPORTS YOUNG SCHOLARS OF MATENADARAN For 3 years now AGBU has been providing scholarships to bright researchers of Matenadaran. AGBU STANDS WITH THE UN TO MARK THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION With a series of events worldwide, AGBU stands with the UN to mark the International Day of Genocide Commemoration and Prevention on December 9. Co-sponsored by AGBU Armenia, Verdi’s “Requiem” performed by the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Armenian National Academic Choir and renowned international soloists took place at Aram Khachaturyan Concert Hall in Yerevan.

INTENT TO DESTROY: DEATH, DENIAL AND DEPICTION Joe Berlinger's Intent to Destroy documentary on the making of The Promise film was screened at AGBU Armenia in support of the UN International Day of Genocide Commemoration and Prevention .

THE BOOK HOMELAND: VOSKAN YEREVANTSI AGBU Armenia screened the English premiere of the monumental documentary "Voskan Yerevantsi", which is the longest of a trilogy entitled "Book Homeland". Voskan Yerevantsi was one of the first Armenian book publishers during the years 1640-1666. He published the Bible in Amsterdam in 1668, which is believed to be one of the best samples of old Armenian printing.

CLASSIC FRENCH CINEMA - 2017 Jean-Luc Godard's "Le mépris", with incredible Brigitte Bardot, closed the French Classic Cinema 2017 series at AGBU Armenia. Throughout the year, the series brought together film lovers and French speakers for eight classic French movie screenings.
PHOTOLURE 15 15 years ago, AGBU supported the establishment of Photolure News Agency. On December 1, AGBU hosted the Instant exhibition to celebrate the 15th anniversary of one of the leading photo news agencies in Armenia. See the exhibition photoshere.
HOME TO HOME "Home to Home" documentary photo exhibition is a retrospective of the lives of Syrian-Armenian newcomers in Armenia and Artsakh documented by prominent female photographers Nazik Armenakyan and Piruza Khalapyan of the 4 Plus Documentary Photography Center and Anush Babajanyan of VII Photo Agency. KIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 60 films from 20 countries were screened as part of the 14th International KIN Festival hosted by AGBU Armenia. The purpose of the festival is to address through films issues of violence, inequality, discrimination and other women’s rights and gender related problems.
