AGBU PRESIDENT AND ARMENIA'S NEW LEADERSHIP DISCUSS AREAS OF MUTUAL INTEREST AND COOPERATION AGBU president Berge Setrakian, accompanied by AGBU board members Vasken Yacoubian and Yervant Zorian, attended a series of meetings and working sessions with the president of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, the prime minister Nikol Pashinyan, the parliament speaker Ara Babloyan, and the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Diaspora, Education and Science.

AGBU DISCOVERS TALENTS The young talents of Armenia impressed the international jury: 25 monetary awards were granted instead of the planned 4. Another 15 musical instruments were given to the participants for 1-year.
48 talented kids and youth participated in a 2-day musical competition of string musicians in four different age categories organized jointly by AGBU Europe, AGBU Armenia and a New-York based musician advocacy non-profit "Musicians for Musicians". See our Facebook post here.

ARMAVIR SCHOOL TEAM WINS THE CHESS SCHOOL TOURNAMENT To promote literacy and healthy lifestyle choices, in 2018, AGBU Armenia awarded the tournament participants with board games, kindles, laptops, portable speakers and bicycles. AGBU YEREVAN SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2018 Twenty-four eager and talented students from Canada, France, Greece, Russia, Kuwait and USA joined us in Yerevan for a 6-week internship program. The students spent an unforgettable summer of professional enrichment and networking, while interning at the nation’s leading global companies and institutions, including Microsoft Armenia, National Instruments, Grant Thornton, Izmirlian Medical Center, RA Central Bank.
AGBU MUSICAL ARMENIA PROGRAM EXPANDS ITS GEOGRAPHY Talented musicians from CIS countries receive an opportunity to discover one of the world’s most ancient cultures and its music.
AGBU Musical Armenia program, presented at XIII Forum of scientific and creative intelligentsia of the CIS states on June 19-21 in Astana, capital city of Kazakhstan, aroused great interest and enthusiasm among the participants of the Forum.

AGBU ARMENIA HOSTS AWARD-WINNING VFX SUPERVISOR DARIUSH DERAKHSHANI Meet Dariush Derakhshani, US-based award-winning visual effects supervisor, the man behind the special effects of "Apocalypto", "Die Hard 5", "Pan's Labyrinth", "Red" and "Game of Thrones". "LA STRUCTURE EST POURRIE, CAMARADE" BY VIKEN BERBERIAN La Structure est Pourrie, Camarade exposition based on Viken Berberian's acclaimed graphic novel of the same name, illustrated by Yann Kebbi, was on at AGBU Armenia Gallery until June 15. The exhibit featured behind the scenes content, extracts from the novel, as well as a short film by Gariné Torossian. Before closing the exhibition AGBU Armenia also held a panel discussion on the behind the scenes and cultural criticism of "La Structure".

THE SONG OF A REFUGEE
MIHR Theater presented The Song of a Refugee inspired by Heriqnaz Galstyan’s sculptural work, “Horovel” at AGBU Armenia. The site-specific performance combines and erases the border between space, musician and dancer.
