AGBU PRESIDENT BERGE SETRAKIAN VISITS ARMENIA, MEETS OFFICIALS

During his recent visit to Armenia, AGBU President Berge Setrakian was received by Armenia's President Armen Sarkissian. Welcoming AGBU's growing presence and activities in Armenia, President Sarkissian hailed the Organization's envolvement in the resolution of the issues of pan-national significance.
Mr. Setrakian, accompanied by AGBU Armenia President Vasken Yacoubian, was also received by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
AGBU President also had meetings with RA Parliament Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Prime Minister's wife Anna Hakobyan.

REQUIEM SERVICE FOR LOUISE MANOOGIAN-SIMONE

On the 40th day of passing away of national philanthropist, former AGBU President Louise Manoogian-Simone, a requiem service for the rest of her soul was conducted by His Holiness Karekin II at the St. Gayane Monastery in Etchmiadzin attended by members of the Supreme Religious Council, Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin benefactors, AGBU Armenia leadership and friends.

NARINE ABGARYAN APPOINTED GOODWILL AMBASSADOR

"Gradarak" NGO's new community center opened in the bordering village of Movses, Tavush region, through the support of AGBU's Bridge for CSOs project. During the opening ceremony, well-known writer Narine Abgaryan was granted the title of Goodwill Ambassador for "Gradarak" NGO.
Bridge for CSOs project is led by AGBU in partnership with Eurasia Partnership Foundation and funded by the European Union in Armenia.

THE FUTURE OF ARMENIAN LITERATURE
The event featured a brief presentation by Mardig Tcholakian, the director of TechnoLinguistics, an Armenia-based NGO established in 2015 to focus on publishing Armenian ebooks and audiobooks, followed by a panel discussion on current challenges of digitalization in culture in Armenia with some of the leading experts in education and publishing.

AVC'S SERIES OF LIVE EVENTS FROM SARYAN MUSEUM

The AGBU Armenian Virtual College, in collaboration with Armenia's Ministry of Education and Science and Martiros Saryan house-museum, organized a series of live FB events from the museum. Art critic and house-museum director Ruzan Saryan and chief curator Sophie Saryan guided the viewers on a virtual tour unveiling the secrets of Saryan’s artworks. The event was part of the 9th Pan-Armenian children’s painting festival-competition “My Saryan”.

CONVERGENCE: 17 ARTISTS EXHIBIT THEIR WORKS AT AGBU ARMENIA

A collective exhibit featuring 17 young artists working with divergent techniques, styles and subjects took place at AGBU Armenia Gallery. The exhibition, “Convergence”, illustrating a dialogue where different approaches intersect and merge - sometimes in conflict, sometimes in harmony - operated between March 15-30.

ANTHOLOGY OF ARMENIAN PIANO MUSIC

AGBU Armenia hosted a concert and CD presentation of the "Anthology of Armenian Piano Music Volume 4" by TM Production and well-known pianist Armen Babakhanian, including Alexander Spendiaryan's and Sargis Barkhudaryan's pieces.
The 3rd and 4th volumes of the anthology are financed by Bridge for CSOs project led by AGBU and EPF and
funded by the European Union.

YERVAND MARGARYAN JAZZ QUARTET

On March 6, AGBU Armenia hosted a sold out concert of Yervand Margaryan Jazz Quartet with special guest Jean Vartan. On the occasion of the International Women's Day the concert was dedicated to all women.

Enjoy this unique interpretation of Komitas' "Today is Friday", which opened the concert at AGBU Armenia.

ARMENIAN FILM FORUM 2019

The first Armenian Film Forum organized by GAIFF Pro, took place in Yerevan between February 27 and March 3. Following the public free of charge screenings of all the Armenian feature films of 2018, AGBU Armenia hosted a series of panel discussions on film criticism, film distribution, challenges and perspectives of film education, the new regulation of the National Cinema Center of Armenia, organization of co-production, possible directions of film industry development in Armenia, etc.

ALEPPO'S BEDROS ATAMYAN THEATER GROUP PERFORMS IN ARMENIA
On the occasion of the International Day of Theater, AGBU Armenia hosted the Armenia-based members of the AGBU-AYA Bedros Atamyan Theater of Aleppo, who presented their "Theatrical images" performance.
Atamyan Theater group was established in 1961 and is one of the best and long-lived theater groups in the Diaspora, which didn't cease to operate even during the war years.
