ARMENIA'S HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR DIASPORA AFFAIRS ZAREH SINANYAN VISITS AGBU ARMENIA

AGBU Armenia hosted the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan and Chief of Staff of his office Sara Anjargoliam. AGBU presented its various projects and focused on the ones carried out in Armenia and Artsakh. Zareh Sinanian and Sara Anjargolian in their turn briefed the AGBU leadership on the mission, goals and further activities of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs. Both sides agreed on the need to expand mutual support and discussed possibilities of further cooperation.

AGBU DELEGATION RECEIVED BY RA PRESIDENT'S SPOUSE NOUNEH SARKISSIAN
The Spouse of the President of the Republic of Armenia Mrs. Nouneh Sarkissian hosted the delegation led by AGBU President Berge Setrakian. AGBU presented AGBU's projects implemented in Armenia and Artsakh. Mrs. Sarkissian highly appreciated AGBU's efforts especially ones directed towards increasing women's socio-economic role. Future cooperation opportunities were discussed which the public will be informed about once they materialize.

24 SYRIAN-ARMENIAN STUDENTS MEET WITH RA EDUCATION MINISTER ARAYIK HARUTYUNYAN
Despite all the difficulties they went through in the past few years, 24 out of 294 Syrian Armenian university students have achieved academic excellence in their own fields. AGBU organized a closed event to congratulate these students. Special guest of the evening was Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan, who congratulated the students for their educational achievements and promised to keep the Ministry's doors open for them. AGBU in cooperation with Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, St. Sarkis Charity Trust and the Government of Armenia continues the joint program of providing tuition assistance to Syrian-Armenians studying in Armenia.

AGBU EXPANDS ITS PRESENCE IN ARTSAKH

On September 5-6, AGBU held a series of events in Artsakh including the presentation of “Agricultural support” project, networking evening with LEAP English students and teachers, AGBU W.E. pitch battle and meetings with government officials.

AGBU AT SEVAN STARTUP SUMMIT 2019

How can a woman turn an idea into a startup? What is the advantage of being a woman entrepreneur? What are the difficulties that women entrepreneurs come across every day? How do women entrepreneurs manage the work-life balance? AGBU Armenia Executive Director Talar Kazanjian was there to share her thoughts about these questions at the “Woman as an Economic Power” panel organized by "Start up Woman" NGO at Sevan Startup Summit 2019.

YOU MUST BELIEVE IN SPRING
Famous Armenian trumpet player Yervand Margaryan and his band performed a beautiful jazz concert titled "You Must Believe in Spring" at AGBU Armenia joined by Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra's small chamber group, as well as invited drummer Daniel Zhelev, and guest conductor Levon Manukyan both from Bulgaria.

VARDAN OVSEPIAN TRIO AT AGBU ARMENIA
Talented US-based jazz pianist Vardan Ovsepian ended his Armenia tour with a concert at AGBU Armenia together with his bandmates Karen Kocharyan (drums) and Ara Yaralyan (bass). Another talented musician, cellist Artyom Manukyan (USA), joined the trio as a guest performer.

UK-BASED HERA NGO HOLDS A WORKSHOP FOR AGBU W.E. PARTICIPANTS

AGBU Women Entrepreneurs (W.E.) organized a full-day workshop and a panel discussion in cooperation with UK-based Hera NGO. The event was attended by women entrepreneurs from around various regions of Armenia. The topics covered social media marketing, social venture, cash flow and budget management, as well as effective pitching and negotiation technics.

6-WEEK TRAINING COURSE FOR BRIDGE GRANTEES KICKED OFF AT AGBU ARMENIA

A six-week acceleration training in "Business Model Validation" kicked off at AGBU Armenia for AGBU’s Bridge for CSOs grantees to help them understand the local market, find product innovations, overcome the challenges, create an effective sales strategy and establish strategic partnerships. The first training was conducted by a senior entrepreneur, business investor and technical expert on business development Jesus Lozaño.
