Dr. Roy Knocke, Director of Lepsius Haus Potsdam, will present about the life and achievements of the German pastor, historical archivist, campaigner for modern concepts of human rights, Johannes Lepsius.

Roy Knocke

Director of Lepsius Haus Potsdam

Roy Knocke is the director of the Lepsiushaus Potsdam and an associate lecturer at the University of Potsdam. His research interests include genocide studies, the history of humanitarianism and the moral history of extreme political violence. As co-editor and author, he has published books on Franz Werfel and the Armenian Genocide as well as on the origins, manifestations, and aftermaths of political violence in the 20th century. Currently, he works on a project about the “Armenian Question” and humanitarianism in the works of Johannes Lepsius.
